Research
A recent project initiated, managed and completed by Mobi Publishing ltd looked at wider impact of COVID-19 on business and people. The research used an agile science approach involved multidisciplinary collaboration from experts from five universities, three in the UK and two in the USA, and input from commercial experts from the UK, Europe and the Middle East. The research itself covered activity across Europe, the UK and activity in the US. The main outputs include some highly informed analysis and guidance on the impact of COVID-19 which hopefully will inform policy and resulted in a collected volume published for wider dissemination.
A further current project focuses on security and privacy issues around the use and testing of AI based systems, again using an agile science approach involving business and academia experts. This is part of a SPRITE+ UK research council funded project.
An ongoing theme in the research activity in focusing on security issues. We adopt a socio-technical approach to security, based around the concepts of Prevention, Detection and Response to security threats and issues. This joined-up thinking results in more resilient security solutions.
Mobi Publishing is very active in Risk Science research. This include collaboration on the multi-million pound research project Common Sensing building climate resilience in Small Island Development States. Part of this project for which Mobi Publishing Ltd plays an active part is in developing robust and innovative toolsets to measure perceptions of risk and preparedness for risk (The PRISM and SAVI toolsets).
A related project looks at toolsets to measure wellbeing in patients and in the workforce. The workforce application of the wellbeing measure is used in Digital Energy's Hygieia app to support organisations going through disruptions as a results of COVID-19.
A further project looks digital innovations in the media, film and arts sector. Part of this is developing the Short Film gendre with collaborators from industry and universities.
